Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton still can’t admit that her inevitability and disappointing State Department record weren’t enough to guarantee her a spot in the Oval Office. Clinton has now moved on from blaming Russian hackers and fake news for her loss to blaming her own “bankrupt” and unprepared party for her failure.
Clinton told a crowd gathered at the Cloud Conference in California Wednesday: “It was bankrupt; it was on the verge of insolvency; its data was mediocre to poor, non-existent, wrong. I had to inject money into it – the DNC – to keep it going.”
For Clinton critics, it certainly isn’t surprising that the candidate is grasping for anyone or anything but herself to blame for her electoral disappointment. But her remarks came as a shock to some Democratic insiders, many of whom have been perfectly happy to go along with all of her other previous excuses.
In a tweet storm that he said “got way more attention than I’d expected,” former DNC data science director Andrew Terriault took Clinton to task.
“DNC data folks: today’s accusations are f***ing bulls***, and I hope you understand the good you did despite that nonsense,” he wrote in a now-deleted tweet.
“We will respond in due time, but for now, just realize your work was worth way more than you’re being given credit for,” he continued.
The DNC insider said he was calling out the failed candidate because he wasn’t willing to let his team to “be thrown under the bus without a fight.”
Contrary to Clinton’s claims, the data expert said her team repeatedly worked to undermine data structures the DNC had in place.
The DNC’s numbers, he said, showed that Clinton faced a tighter race in many key states than many Clintonites believed.
“Irony of her bashing DNC data: our models never had mi/wi/pa looking even close to safe. Her team thought they knew better,” he wrote.
Twitter-loving President Donald Trump couldn’t help but respond, saying: “Crooked Hillary Clinton now blames everybody but herself, refuses to say she was a terrible candidate. Hits Facebook & even Dems & DNC.”
Clinton’s ongoing refusal to accept responsibility for any of her failures is yet another reminder of the bullet the nation dodged by keeping her out of the White House, regardless of how anyone feels about the current administration.
In other Clinton-related news, the failed candidate’s blame Russia meme continues to disintegrate. Judicial Watch this week announced that it has uncovered a massive trove of Clinton emails revealing that her team was likely working more closely with Russian organizations than anyone involved with Trump.
More lies, more sharing of classified information and more reason for the president to make good on his promise to Lock Her Up.
