Decision day for moving Israeli Embassy

jerusalem_sign

WASHINGTON – If President Donald Trump doesn’t affirmatively sign a waiver Thursday not to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, it will be moved under a law passed in 1995.

Unless Trump signs a waiver as did Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama before midnight, the decision to make the historic move will have been made by non-action.

“God, Israel and You: The Scandalous Story of a Faithful God” presents a courageous and honest look at Jesus, His involvement in the world, and how it relates to the issues of today.

On October 23, 1995, Congress passed the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995, recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and requiring the U.S. Embassy to be moved there by May 31, 1999. The law passed the Senate by 93-5 and the House by 374-37. Yet the law was never implemented because of opposition from former Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama. Each president took advantage of a waiver provision in the Jerusalem Embassy Act, enabling them to certify, every six months, that it is not yet time to move the U.S. Embassy.

The White House has indicated Trump had not yet made a final decision.

Want to solve Seth Rich murder mystery? Help now

How would you like to hear the words, just like in the 1970s CBS police drama “Hawaii Five-O,” “Book ’em, Danno!” in the Seth Rich murder case in Washington, D.C.? It always came in the show when the bad guy was caught with incontrovertible proof of guilt.

You could play a role by participating in the Go Fund Me campaign launched to raise support for rewards for new evidence that would lead to a conviction, for funding for a private investigator to uncover the truth and for more resources for investigative reporting.

As WND reported, Rich, 27, a staffer with the DNC, was murdered in his affluent neighborhood in Washington. He was shot in the back multiple times with a handgun at 4:18 a.m. a block from his home, and although the police reported it as a robbery, nothing was taken from him. He was transported to an unidentified local hospital and was pronounced dead at 5:57 a.m. On July 22, just 12 days after Rich’s death and days before the Democratic Party Convention in Philadelphia, WikiLeaks released 20,000 emails from DNC officials.

Most news agencies are running scared and not without reason, as Twitter arbitrarily suspended the account of WND for tweeting a major break in the case.”

Those who oppose investigating and reporting on the case are busy characterizing it as a “conspiracy” theory.

The campaign explains that WND “is one news agency that won’t be deterred and is determined to get to the truth.”

“We support the GoFundMe campaign of the Rich Family and commend anyone to donate to that cause. Seth Rich’s brother, Aaron, is right when he writes: ‘One thing that no one tells you, and something we weren’t prepared to hear when we lost Seth, is that if a case isn’t solved immediately, it could take months or years before justice is served. Worse, to keep the investigation active, to seek leads and to follow up on investigations, to make sure that every possible angle is covered – it’s expensive.’”

WND already has spoken with the manager of the bar where Rich spent his last night, reported Donna Brazile’s warning to a private investigator, the lawsuits already under way, the highly respected Judicial Watch’s assessment of “credible evidence” of “hanky panky,” the Washington mayor’s comment on the case, and CNN’s reaction to a congressman who called for an investigation.

There are many angles already, with Jack Burkman, the head of the Profiling Project investigative team, seeking video footage of the shooting, the medical examiner’s report and ballistics reports. Burkman has claimed that officials with the Metropolitan Police Department – in collusion with the mayor – are withholding key evidence from the public and obstructing the investigation for political purposes.

He’s offered a $105,000 reward of his personal money for information leading to the arrest of Rich’s killer(s).

The Metropolitan Police Department earlier issued a bizarre denial in the case: “MPD does not entertain conspiracy theories and does not engage with conspiracy theorists. If you are in possession of information that you believe to be relevant to this or any case, please let us know the details of such information such that it can help, rather than hinder, our investigation.”

Private investigator Rod Wheeler, who was hired by Rich’s parents in March to find their son’s killer, suspects Rich’s death is linked to his work at the DNC. He contends there is no evidence to support the police’s assertion Rich was murdered during a “botched” robbery.

Anonymous sources have linked Rich to the dump of DNC emails that was published by WikiLeaks on the eve of the Democratic National Convention.

Further, a timeline of the case raises more questions. For example, Jonathan Rich, Seth Rich’s cousin, said in a now-deleted social media posting: “First thing I said when my dad told me [about Seth’s death] was he knew something and he was murdered. The rest of the family thought I was nuts.”

Jonathan Rich later asked in a tweet why “people close to Hillary & Bill Clinton tend to end up dead in weird ways … like my cousin.”

2 D.C. hospitals shut down questions about Seth Rich murder

WASHINGTON – Murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich was likely treated at one of two hospitals near the Washington, D.C., intersection where police found him shot in the back in July 2016, but those hospitals are refusing to answer any of WND’s questions about the unsolved crime.

WND contacted MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Howard University Hospital – two hospitals located within a one- to two-mile radius of the 2100 block of Flagler Place NW, where Rich was shot in the early hours of July 10, 2016. Howard University Hospital is three blocks east of the shooting site, and MedStar Washington Hospital Center is less than two miles to the north.

When WND sought an interview with hospital officials and a media representatives of MedStar Washington Hospital Center, administrators refused to answer questions and instead summoned security guards. WND also called and emailed both hospitals.

MedStar Washington Hospital Center

MedStar’s director of media relations, So Young Pak, would not confirm whether Rich was treated at the hospital. Pak also said the hospital cannot release information about any patient and cited the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, also known as HIPAA.

“I am not permitted to reveal any information about any patient of this hospital, whether that patient is living or deceased,” Pak told WND. “Journalists are not permitted in any hospital in the nation unless escorted by a director of media relations.”

Pressed to merely confirm whether Rich was admitted and treated at MedStar, Pak said, “All information is subject to federal privacy laws, and thus we cannot respond to the question.”

Howard University Hospital also declined to respond to WND’s multiple requests for confirmation that Rich was treated in its facility.

Instead, Howard University spokesman Sholnn Freeman told WND by phone, “Um, I’m not prepared to answer this right now.”

When WND inquired about whether Freeman would have the information at a later time, he simply replied, “You can follow up with me.”

WND is one news agency determined to get to the truth about the Seth Rich murder. It has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for three purposes – to put more resources into investigative reporting, to hire an independent private investigator and to provide rewards for new evidence that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator.

Government watchdog group Judicial Watch confirmed that filing Freedom of Information Act requests with the hospitals would be unproductive, particularly when dealing with private medical facilities, due to strict patient privacy regulations.

As WND reported, Jack Burkman, the head of the Profiling Project investigative team, filed a lawsuit Wednesday to push the Metropolitan Police Department to release information in the Rich case, including the medical examiner’s report, video footage of the shooting and ballistics reports. In the past, the department has regularly released surveillance video related to unsolved criminal investigations and often posts footage of persons of interest on its YouTube account. However, police have not released any footage related to the Rich murder case.

“MPD has released 12 videos in the last week alone, to include unsolved murder investigations,” the Daily Caller’s Ted Goodman reported Tuesday. “Their habit of transparency with unsolved cases raises the question as to why they’ve been so tight-lipped about the Rich case.”

A police report issued by the Metropolitan Police Department (full report included at the end of this article) indicates that Rich was “conscious and breathing” when law-enforcement authorities arrived on the scene. However, the report doesn’t name the hospital where Rich was treated or name the physician at the hospital who pronounced Rich dead. The report states:

CIC reports the sound of gunshots at 2134 Flagler Pl. NW. Upon arriving to the scene, the decedent was laying in the Southwest corner of the intersection of W. St. and Flagler Pl. NW. The decedent was conscious and breathing with apparent gunshot wound(s) to the back. The decedent was transported to local area hospital and was pronounced dead by attending physician at 0557 hours.

The Metropolitan Police Department and Washington, D.C., mayor’s office maintain that Rich was killed during an attempted robbery, even though the murderers left behind his wallet, credit cards and other valuables.

One America News, a budding independent TV news company, reported that Rich was alive and talking to police and EMTs before being hospitalized, raising questions about what he may have been able to tell them. If he told them it was a botched robbery, that evidence has not been made public. Rich’s murder is one of 65 unsolved cases in D.C. from 2016. His was the only murder last year in the quiet, well-to-do Bloomingdale neighborhood. There have been a total of five homicides in Bloomingdale since 2012, according to the Twitter feed DCHomicideCount.

Meanwhile, Americans have been hunting for clues and searching for answers to a myriad of questions surrounding the unsolved murder. Rumors and speculation are running wild in online chat rooms, social media and websites. Some social media users have even speculated that Rich was killed at a D.C. hospital.

Dr. Jack Sava, MD, MedStar Health

One America News reported that the attending physician who treated Rich was Dr. Jack Sava, a donor to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, who visited the White House six times before the day of Seth Rich’s murder. Dr. Sava is in a relationship with Lisa Kountoupes, a lobbyist for the DNC in 2016 who reportedly visited the White House 23 times during that same time period. They both reportedly visited the East Wing, reserved for then-first lady Michelle Obama and her staff.

WND called Dr. Sava, one of 80 doctors who specialize surgery at MedStar Health, multiple times to ask him if he operated on Rich. But WND was unable to reach the physician, and his office has not returned messages.

WikiLeaks emails reveal Kountoupes co-hosted a Feb. 22, 2016, fundraiser with Tony and John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 national campaign chairman. Kountoupes and Dr. Sava were also listed on a guest list attached to a Feb. 7, 2016, email to John Podesta. Kountoupes is listed among Clinton Foundation contributors in the $10,0001-$25,000 donation bracket.

Media yawn at Venezuela’s spiraling, socialist nightmare

(LIFEZETTE) — Out of approximately 50,000 total evening news stories on ABC, CBS and NBC combined in the last four years, just 25 have covered the ongoing crisis in socialist Venezuela, according to a Media Research Center study published Tuesday.

After Venezuela’s former socialist president, Hugo Chávez, passed away in March 2013, the country has spiraled into economic disaster and civil chaos. So far in 2017, more than 50 Venezuelans have been killed during protests against current Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his socialist policies. Many Venezuelans are starving due to shortages of food and other essentials. The country’s inflation rate is set to surpass 700 percent and 25 percent of Venezuelans will be unemployed.

“Yet the Big Three evening newscasts have tried to pretend this crisis does not exist, offering virtually no coverage as the situation has deteriorated over the past four years,” MRC Research Analyst Mike Ciandella wrote.

Congress issues ‘unmasking’ subpoenas

(WALL STREET JOURNAL) — The House Intelligence Committee issued seven subpoenas on Wednesday, in a sign that its investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election is ramping up in scope and intensity, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Republican-led committee issued four subpoenas related to the Russia investigation. Three subpoenas are related to questions about how and why the names of associates of President Donald Trump were unredacted and distributed within classified reports by Obama administration officials during the transition between administrations.

The committee has subpoenaed the National Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency for information about what is called “unmasking.” Republicans on the committee have been pushing for a thorough investigation of how the names of Trump campaign officials became exposed in classified intelligence reports based off intelligence community intercepts.

Hillary Clinton: DNC gave me ‘nothing’ to beat Trump

(WASHINGTON TIMES) — Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said Wednesday the Democratic National Committee gave her “nothing” after she clinched the nomination.

“I set up my campaign and we have our own data operation. I get the nomination. So I’m now the nominee from the Democratic Party. I inherit nothing from the Democratic Party. I mean, it was bankrupt,” she said at the Code Conference in California.

“I had to inject money into it to keep it going.”

Trump restores ‘freedom of conscience’ with proposed rule

Little Sisters of the Poor

Little Sisters of the Poor

President Trump is restoring “freedom of conscience” to America with a proposed rule that would lift the burdensome, and unconstitutional – according to critics – demands from ex-President Obama that employers pay for abortion-causing chemicals for employees, public-interest groups are saying.

“This interim rule, if issued as written, is an important step in acknowledging the importance of conscience rights for all Americans,” officials with the Susan B. Anthony List organization said in a statement.

“The taking of human life is the antithesis of health care. No one, including religious orders like the Little Sisters of the Poor, or groups like Susan B. Anthony List should be forced to be complicit in the provision of abortion inducing drugs and devices.

“The pending interim rule is a welcome sign that the Trump administration is continuing their work to protect the conscience rights of all Americans. We thank President Trump for taking the necessary steps to follow through on one of his core promises to voters of faith and conscience.”

The interim Health and Human Services rule amends Obama’s mandate for employers to facilitate and fund abortion by allowing employers and others to opt out of contraceptive coverage due to a moral or religious objections. It still has a review and adoption process to go through.

Judge Andrew P. Napolitano’s “The Freedom Answer Book” provides a clear vision of what your rights are and how you can protect them. Get your copy of this helpful guide to the Constitution today!

Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion-industry player now under fire for its baby body-parts trade, immediately objected, claiming the rule regarding payment for contraception would endanger “a woman’s ability to make the most basic and personal of decisions – when and if to have a child.”

The statement from Dana Singiser complained that, “This rule would mean women across the country could be denied insurance coverage for birth control on a whim from their employer or university.”

It also would mean that women may have to pay for their birth control themselves.

In the proposed rule, which was leaked on Wednesday, the Trump administration said expanding exemptions for religious and moral objections means more employers would end up be able to participate in the health-care market.

The far left American Civil Liberties Union said it would sue the Trump administration if it does not continue forcing employers to violate their faith and fund contraceptives for workers.

The issue was the focal point of the famous case brought against Obama by the Little Sisters of the Poor charity whose members run homes for the elderly around the world.

They sued Obama over his imposition of the requirement they violate their faith, and they won at the Supreme Court level. Obama’s administration then created a rule to accommodate the situation, and Trump’s change expands on that.

“Americans should always have the freedom to peacefully operate according to their beliefs without fear of severe penalties by the government,” said Gregory S. Baylor, senior counsel for the Alliance Defending Freedom.

“The proposed HHS regulation regarding the Obamacare abortion-pill mandate would, if made final, protect conscientiously objecting employers from having to choose between paying crippling fines or providing morally objectionable abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, or contraception. The government has put forward a common-sense solution that ensures that Americans won’t be forced to violate their deepest convictions while maintaining multiple ways for people to obtain the drugs in question if they want them. We commend President Trump and his administration for taking quick action to demonstrate their resolve to make religious liberty a first priority.”

Officials at First Liberty Institute, which has represented multiple religious ministries over the years seeking relief from Obama’s demands, said, “The Trump administration has clearly announced its intent to adopt an important new policy for religious ministries across the country: the government will no longer force a religious ministry to violate their faith or face a government penalty.”

Spokesman Jeremy Dys said, “Our clients are delighted to see their religious liberty potentially restored … .”

From Tony Perkins, of Family Research Council, was: “While this apparent leaked document is a draft, it is a very positive sign to see the federal government work to cease its hostility toward Christians and those who object to the Obama era health care mandates. This draft regulation shows that Secretary Tom Price and President Trump intend to make good on their pledge to vigorously protect and promote American’s First Freedom.”

He continued, “As many Americans of faith have experienced, the extent of the Obama administration’s hostility toward their beliefs was astounding. From President Obama’s dismissal of people of faith as Americans ‘clinging’ to their religion, to threatening millions in crushing fines against charities like the Little Sisters of the Poor, the Obama administration made clear they believed people of faith had no place in the public square and that religious beliefs or moral convictions were irrelevant to the health care they provide.

“Respecting the freedom of Americans to follow their deeply held beliefs is a long-held American tradition and grounded firmly in the Constitution. The draft regulation would continue the process of righting this wrong and restoring Americans’ full First Amendment rights. The freedom to live out faith in all areas of society without government punishment or intimidation is fundamental to making America great again,” said Perkins.

“Better late than never,” added Mark Rienzi, with the Becket Fund.

That was the organization that fought on behalf of the Little Sisters.

“At long last the United States government acknowledges that people can get contraceptives without forcing nuns to provide them. That is sensible, fair, and in keeping with the Supreme Court’s order and the president’s promise to the Little Sisters and other religious groups serving the poor,” Rienzi said.

The legal team at Becket pointed out that Obama’s mandate already included “enormous exemptions,” but they were not for religious groups.

“One hundred million Americans – nearly one in three – don’t have insurance plans that must comply with this mandate,” the organization reported. “The government was already exempting large corporations like Exxon and Visa, and even its own government-run plans for the disabled and military families. It’s time to bring some common sense to this regulation and protect religious groups serving those in need.”

The lawyers reported the contraceptive mandate issue has been to the Supreme Court five times, and each time the Supreme Court has ruled in favor of broader protections for religious groups.
